Mara is a Senior Legal Advisor of Cabrera & Company, handling legal consulting, tax litigation, and environment and social governance (ESG) program design for financial institutions. She also provides legal advisory and support implementation for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and reviews and implements enterprise-wide projects, such as automation and AI tools. Mara leads comprehensive training sessions focused on privacy compliance, cybersecurity and tax updates. Additionally, she provides strategic recommendations to the firm’s executive leadership team on client acceptance procedures and sanctions-related screening protocols.

Mara has over 14 years of work experience in the Financial Services sector, Real Estate, Telecommunications tower industry, Solar Energy, Tax, and operations of Aviation, Logistics, and Cold Storage Solutions. She has a proven track record in completing organizational project implementation and setting up departments in newly established corporations. Mara has represented institutions in significant M&A transactions, including the largest PH M&A by Sojitz in 2021 into the telecom tower industry.

She is a certified Trust Officer and UITF Sales Person, and has satisfactorily led two institutions through regulatory audits, implementing full compliance programs covering Anti Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, Risk Assessments, KYC, FATCA, Investment Compliance, Anti Bribery and Corruption, Consumer Protection, and Market Conduct. Mara has also submitted policy position papers on behalf of corporations that were adopted by regulators in favor of the corporations represented.
